List the role and responsibilities of an Emergency First Aider.
List ways to minimise the risk of infection
State the importance of establishing consent before providing treatment

Session 2-
By the end of the session, you will be able to:
State the principles of conducting a ‘scene survey’
Identify the types of dangers a first aider could face
Conduct a ‘primary survey’ of a casualty
Identify when to call the emergency services
Session 3-
By the end of the session, you will be able to:
State the principles of assessing a casualty’s level of consciousness
Demonstrate how to open a casualty’s airway using the ‘head tilt, chin lift’ method
Demonstrate how to check if a casualty is breathing
Identify the reasons for placing a casualty in the recovery position
Demonstrate how to place an unconscious casualty in the recovery position
State the principles of managing a casualty who is having a seizure
Session 4-
By the end of the session, you will be able to:
State the principles of the ‘chain of survival’
Identify when to perform CPR
Demonstrate how to administer CPR
Session 5-
By the end of the session, you will be able to:
Identify the two types of choking
Demonstrate how to administer first aid to a casualty who is choking
Session 6-
By the end of the session, you will be able to:
Identify the different types of external bleeding
Demonstrate how to administer first aid to a casualty who is bleeding
Session 7-
By the end of the session, you will be able to:
List the recognition features of shock
List the causes of shock
State the principles of managing a casualty who is in shock
Session 8-
By the end of the session, you will be able to:
State the treatment for minor cuts, grazes and bruises
State the principles of administering first aid to a casualty with a minor burn/scald
State the principles of administering first aid to a casualty with a small splinter

We have our own in house training facilities and can offer training courses for First Aid including First Aid at Work. We can offer basic Health and Safety Training and we can bring our Fire Extinguisher Training Trailer to your premises so your staff can get hands on practice with putting out real Fires.
We supply a range of First Aid Equipment everything from a Plaster to a PAD (Public Access Defibrillator). We are approved suppliers of the Heartsine and CardiAid AED (Automatic External Defibrillator), and are happy to give a free no obligation demonstration to individuals, groups or firms anywhere in the Nottingham and Derby Area.
We operate throughout Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and the East Midlands. We cater for homes, businesses, councils, government departments and the police.
